“BEST LAWYERS” PUBLICATION RECOGNIZES DAVID F. SILVER FOR EXCELLENCE IN FIELD

BENNINGTON, VERMONT—David F. Silver, partner at BarrSternberg Moss, Silver & Munson PC, has again been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® (2027) for his outstanding criminal defense work. Silver has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2013.

Best Lawyers is one of the oldest and most respected peer-reviewed publications in the legal profession. A listing in Best Lawyers is a significant honor, conferred on a lawyer by their peers. Considered one of the most reliable, unbiased sources of legal referrals anywhere, Best Lawyers lists of outstanding attorneys are compiled by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which tens of thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. Recognition is earned entirely through the publication’s Purely Peer Review® methodology, in which attorneys are evaluated by fellow lawyers practicing in the same field and geographic region.

Named by Super Lawyers as one of New England’s Best Lawyers, David Silver has built his career crafting defenses for some of the most challenging cases and in many of the nation’s toughest districts. A partner at BarrSternberg since 1992, Silver helped to build a criminal defense team reputed as one of the best in the state. Silver has since grown his practice beyond defense, leading many personal injury, wrongful death, and employment law cases that have helped individual Vermonters recoup damages from powerful business and insurance interests. In 2022, Silver was part of the legal team to successfully settle a landmark PFOA class action lawsuit in Bennington. The team helped obtain a $34 million settlement, which funded a medical monitoring program for homeowners who had consumed contaminated water from their wells and also provided compensation for property damage to the members of a Bennington community adversely impacted by contamination. He is a Director of the Vermont Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and on the Board of Directors for the Vermont Association for Justice, Vermont’s trial lawyer organization. He is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Silver was one of the co-founders of the Bennington Meals on Wheels program and serves on the Board of Directors for the affordable housing Shires of Bennington and Arlington.
