BENNINGTON, VERMONT—Best Lawyers—the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession—released its 2019 Best Lawyers in America listing, including BarrSternberg | Moss, Silver & Munson partner David F. Silver for the fourth consecutive year. The publication, which partners with US News & World Report, included Silver for his outstanding criminal defense practice.

A listing in Best Lawyers is a significant honor, conferred on a lawyer by his or her peers. Considered one of the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals anywhere, Best Lawyers lists of outstanding attorneys are compiled by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which tens of thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers.

Firms included in the listing are recognized for professional excellence with persistently impressive ratings from clients and peers. “U.S. News has decades of experience evaluating key institutions in society—from colleges to hospitals,” says Tim Smart, executive editor at U.S. News. “Law firms perform a vital role in American life, and ranking them is a key extension of our overall mission to helps individuals and companies alike make important life decisions.”

The 2019 rankings are based on the highest number of participating firms and highest number of client ballots on record. To be eligible for a ranking, a firm must have a lawyer listed in The Best Lawyers in America, which recognizes the top 4 percent of practicing attorneys in the U.S.
